In the spirit of the French tradition of debate/discussion but in a non-aggressive cocoon, avec bienveillance.
Can you hold a conversation in French, but lack practice and/or get tired quickly?
You have a good command of French but you miss some cultural nuances and references so you don't fully understand all the press articles, or the reactions of your colleagues or movies because of this.
You need a regular opportunity to practice, but the conversation groups are too "chit chat/small talk" oriented, or there are too many people on the Zoom call for your taste?
And you don't have much time to dedicate to "traditional" study (flashcards, exercises, etc.) but you'd like to find a structure that allows you to progress in your learning anyway?
Salon de Français discussions take place in a calm, caring environment, where everyone has time to speak, find their words and articulate their ideas.
The aim is to get members talking to each other, asking each other questions and answering each other's questions. The coach is a member like any other, except that his or her mastery of the French language and the French context enables her to provide clarification and feedback when needed.
Regular speaking practice to reduce frustration and embarrassment at expressing yourself in French.
An opportunity for self-development as the topics covered in this session of Salon de Français are connected to the course French Fluency Framework.

FAQ section
You've got questions. We've got answers.
It's not suitable for beginners. You need to be able to hold a conversation in French. Since you know the topics and can prepare in advance, you may join from mid-intermediate level (B1 and above).
You also need a certain level in listening comprehension to be able to follow the discussions. If you can follow my YouTube videos and podcast (you understands at least 75%), you'll be perfectly fine!
If you can't make it to the meetings, a recording will be available, and you can also contribute off-line in the group's dedicated voice or text channel on Discord.
